Common Questions
Do I need notarisation?
Requirements depend on the receiving authority, document type and intended use. If you have been asked for notarisation, tell us where the document will be submitted and we can confirm the available service options.
How long does notarisation add to the process?
On average, allow 7–10 days for scheduling and notarisation. Including translation and delivery, we recommend 2 weeks for clients in Japan. For overseas delivery, timelines vary and should be discussed case by case.
How do you count a page?
Both medical and non-medical translation are charged per source page. A page is up to 200 source words (12 pt Times New Roman). Where a page contains more than 200 source words, the additional content is charged as a further page, confirmed at document review before payment. You only need to tell us how many pages you have — we confirm the count from the document you send.
Can you notarise medical documents?
We can coordinate notarisation for eligible medical and non-medical translated documents, subject to document review and notary requirements.
Do you provide apostille?
Where an apostille is required, we can coordinate the process subject to document eligibility, the competent authority and the confirmed quotation.
Do you retain my documents?
We follow documented retention and deletion controls. Retention periods depend on the service and are described in our Privacy Policy; files are not kept indefinitely.
What is a Certificate of Translation?
A Certificate of Translation (翻訳証明書 / Honyaku-shoumeisho) is a short written statement the translator signs to confirm the translation is accurate and complete. It must be submitted with the translation for the notary to certify the signature. The fee covers preparation and formatting: ¥2,500 for English or ¥4,000 for non-English documents.
What languages do you support?
Language availability is confirmed for the specific document and service before you order. Please enquire with the source and target languages required.
