Translation Services: Online and In-Person Support
MedicTranslate offers translation and interpreting support in Japan for patients, families and travellers who need to communicate with Japanese clinics, hospitals and pharmacies. This page explains what each service covers, how online and in-person support differ, and how to request a quote.

Document translation for medical visits
We translate medical documents such as prescriptions, medication lists, referral letters, test results, vaccination records and medical receipts between Japanese and English, and also work with German, French and Arabic. Every translation is human-validated, and standard delivery starts from 72 hours. A translated document helps a Japanese doctor or pharmacist read your history and reduces the risk of misunderstanding. It does not replace their own clinical assessment.
Interpreting: in person or by video and phone
Our interpreters support appointments in person across the Kansai region, and by video or phone anywhere in Japan. Interpreting is priced at US$360 for the first 3 hours and US$60 for each additional hour. An interpreter helps you describe symptoms, understand what the doctor explains and ask questions in your own language.
Translation and interpreting support in Japan: how to start
Tell us which documents or appointment you need help with, the languages involved and your timing. We confirm the scope and price before any work begins. If you are not sure which service fits, describe your situation and we will suggest an option.
